Turned On Story and Backers
One thing’s for sure: Turned On didn’t happen overnight. Ever since we first jumped a GoPro Camera, HYPOXIC has been working on the developing a true visual indicator to ease extreme sports athletes’ status woes. After years of roadblocks, failures and complete restarts, we finally produced the first Turned On working prototype in September of 2013.
It took so long because we’re incredibly picky. Our goal was to manufacture a device tough enough to tackle the daily pounding delivered by professional skydiving while remaining refined enough to compete on the commercial consumer market.
Understandably, developing a commercial product of this quality requires an insane amount of capital. Our solution: Instead of selling a stake, we reached to our (incredible) skydiving community for support. The response was astounding: a fully funded Kickstarter campaign, in record time! We can not adequately express our gratitude to the backers, friends, and corporate partners listed below. Without you, guys, nobody would be Turned On. Thank you.
