HYPEYE D PRO & HYPEYE D MINI Compatible Camcorders
Sony Multi Terminal Interface
If your camera has listed "1x USB Micro-AB Multi" in the specifications it now has the new multi terminal interface and no longer the AV/R interface.
Cameras 2015 and greater
Please see the Hypeye Alpha or the Hypeye Alpha Mini for indication and control of the latest Sony Camcorders. The adapter or Hypeye D Pro will no longer work for these cameras
Multi / Micro USB based Cameras up to 2014
The HYPEYE D PRO / HYPEYE 2011+ are still compatible with some of these units provided you have the adapter: Sony MultiTerminal to AV/R Adapter. The HYPEYE 2011 is preferred but only necessary if you plan on using a wide angle lens.
Please note: you may need to pull out the viewfinder or keep the display flipped open onto itself for the camera to accept control. This is unfortunately how the camcorder is programmed. Once you set it up this way, you can power it up and down normally from the HYPEYE D PRO.
AV/R Based Cameras 2011 and greater
Sony Cameras from 2011+ will require the HYPEYE for 2011 models.
CX130, CX160, CX190, CX200, CX210, ... If the camera was made in 2011 or 2012 you will need this version of the HYPEYE!
If you do not use this version you may not be able to focus through a wide angle lens!!! This is because Sony has changed their protocol and no longer allows us to control the mode of the camera. Therefore all advance features are no longer available. The hypeye will be able to turn your camera on and off, and start and stop recording. It will also be able to take stills continuously with the photo kit or expansion kit.
Be warned: A lot of these cameras need the "turn on by lcd" feature turned off to allow the controller to work properly. If your camera does not have this option you may need the lcd to be flipped open or the view finder to be pulled out!

* Not all features such as switching modes and zoom control work with this model + Since the power button is on the inside of the LCD using a HYPEYE MINI does not help out the customer much. With a HYPEYE D PRO you can power on and off the camera while it's secure in a box. |
