GoProInfo Tool to extract GoPro Camera's Settings

Posted by Mark Kirschenbaum on

Unfortunately there is no human readable settings information in the GoPro MP4 file.  However there are few bits that contain the camera's information. Leave feedback on HYPOXIC's Facebook page or git repository if you have suggestions.   For MAC OSx GoProInfo v. 0.0.5For PC GoProInfo v. 0.0.6 Based upon Bento4, the...

What are the extra files in the HERO3

Posted by Mark Kirschenbaum on

I just learned something tonight after wondering what where those LRV and THM files on my GOPRO HERO3.  Turns out the THM is just a JPG used in the future as a thumbnail for the video and the LRV is a super low res version of the video (432x240). I'm assuming the latter is for playback via wifi or simply as the streaming buffer when the smartphone is used as control. If you want to see this, just rename the...

Connecting a GOPRO 3 to aircraft radio

Posted by Mark Kirschenbaum on

my image I was looking for this but could not find it online so here it is: If you want to connect a GOPRO HERO3 to an aircraft radio all you need to do is buy a GOPRO microphone adapter or a  GOPRO combo cable and jack the speaker out of your radio to the microphone-in on the aforesaid cable. For instance I created a cable for our VXA-150 by using a 3.5mm 4 conductor cable and a 3.5mm 3 conductor cable like below:  ...
