Two cameras, similar motherboard, and one code base

The two new offerings from GoPro take the tested GoPro HERO10 platform and make some minor changes that improve the camera dramatically. Both cameras have very similar motherboards and share the same code base. The Mini is missing the GPS daughterboard which includes the stereo mics.

"Tall" 8:7 aspect ratio 27.5 MP sensor allows for better stabilization with punchedout 16:9 or even 4:3 format video. The extra sensor room allows for larger shifting when filming in landscape mode. Punchout means you're using a small subsection of the sensor for your final video but allows for awesome horizon lock and stabilization even without the MAX Lens.

2.7K at 240FPS (16:9) and 4K at 120FPS (16:9)
120Mbps bit rate vs. 100Mbps bitrate previously. HEVC only unfortunately.
Full resolution 5.7K 8:7 30fps mode can be punchedout in landscape or portrait without much quality loss. Good for using a single camera for both vertical video platforms and traditional renderings.
Finally storing footage in 10-bit mode color mode versus 8-bit mode
New WiFi module which should allow faster downloads and lower power consumption while in use.
New software features including Night Effect and better stabilization Hypersmooth 5.0 including Horizon Lock feature.
Hyperview mode which squishes the 8:7 to 16:9 format. This produces a very fisheye view. Superview still exists which squishes a 4:3 punchout to 16:9.
Unfortunately, the Mini only contains a non-removable internal battery.
